Dance Magic Ages 3-5

Introduce your young dancer to the magic and joy of dance in a nurturing and inspiring environment. Basic ballet vocabulary is introduced, and spatial awareness, movement comfort, basic rhythm, coordination, and motor skills are developed. In this creative and fun camp, students also have opportunities to explore spontaneous self-expression through movement. A student's imagination is developed as we play engaging and educational games. Come join the magic and watch your dancer perform in a Showcase the last day of camp.
A Fairy Tale Adventure Ages 5–7

Discover the joy, fun and creativity of dance through the music and stories from classic fairy tales including Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella and Beauty and the Beast. Come join the fun and develop basic movement comfort, rhythm skills, musicality, coordination, and spatial awareness while being transported through a magical world of dance! We’ll dance, sing, create arts and crafts and stage a magical performance at the end of the week.
Blooming Ballerinas and Danseurs Ages 7–9

Inspired by the great ballets of the romantic and classical era, this camp provides students with an introduction to the world of classical ballet. Through music, dance and creative activities students learn basic ballet history, vocabulary, and repertoire that nurtures an appreciation for the art of classical ballet. In a fun and stimulating environment, students develop a foundation in the classical ballet technique, as well as strength, flexibility, rhythm, musicality, and coordination. We invite friends and family to attend a Showcase on the last day of camp featuring your ballerina or danseur. Don’t forget your cameras!
A Dancer’s Journey
Ages 9–11

Inspiring classes and activities provide the young dancer with a glimpse and experience into the life of a professional dancer. Dancers will study ballet, jazz and character dance. From class to rehearsal, to the final stage, fully adorned in make-up and costume, we invite you to share in the journey. Come see your star perform in the Showcase the last day of camp. Be sure to bring your cameras!
RCT/OCC/EBA Collaboration Triple Threat Camp

Rose Children’s Theatre [make link http://www.therct.com/] is excited to collaborate with Oregon Children’s Choir and Eugene Ballet Academy to provide a triple threat super camp for musical theater training with acting, dance and vocal skills. A final performance will take place Friday, July 21 from 6–7 pm.

Intermediate/Advanced Modern Intensive

This modern intensive focuses on developing fundamentals, including asymmetry of the body, moving off-center, working with internal rotation, movement of the spine in all planes, yielding to gravity, floor work, and inversions. Dancers explore concepts of improvisation, partnering (contact improvisation), composition, somatics, conditioning, and performance theory.

Intermediate Prerequisite: 4 years of ballet technique
Advanced Prerequisite: 5 years of ballet technique, 2 years of pointe
Designed for the aspiring dancer, these camps are intensive weeks filled with educational and inspirational dance opportunities. Each week has a unique focus, and dancers are in classes tailored to their placement level: intermediate or advanced. Intensive classes are taught by renowned artists from Eugene Ballet Company, Eugene Ballet Academy faculty, and dance professionals in the community. Ballet Technique, Pointe & Variations, Modern, Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, Yoga, Core Conditioning, Principles of Choreography, and Partnering are among the class offerings with lecture seminars on a variety of topics including injury prevention, nutrition, and “secrets of a professional dancer.” Dancers showcase their work at the end of each week, so be sure to bring your cameras!
